Brill Community Litter Pick : Thank You!
A heart-felt thank you to everyone who helped clear litter from our open spaces and approach roads during the Easter holidays. We really appreciate your work to supplement Cllr James Tuffley’s on-going clean-up operations.
We are planning to make litter picking kits available to residents to use at their convenience to keep our surroundings looking as lovely as they do right now. Details to follow.
Parish Council Business
Read the draft minutes of our April meeting. Our next meeting will be Tuesday May 19th. Read the agenda for this meeting.
Members of the public are very welcome to attend our monthly meetings. Time is set aside at the start of the meeting for you to speak about items on the agenda - or any other topics of community interest.
Parish Council Vacancy
The Parish Council needs to recruit another councillor. If you are interested, please browse our website to better understand the Parish Council and what we do and then speak with Cllr Jules Newman, our Chairman, and/or other councillors to get a feel for the role of a parish councillor.
Have to work with Bobs Damerell, our Clerk, to check you are eligible and then email him a brief account of why you wish to join the Parish Council and what you would bring to the job. Please do this by May 31st 2026.
Brill MUGA
The all weather surface of our MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) is marked up for football, netball, basketball and tennis - or just running madly around! Book a 30 or 60 minute MUGA session - or just turn up and play (so long as nobody with a confirmed booking appears).
Now with new permanent flood lights - and bookings extended to 9pm.

Doorstep cold calling : the warning signs
A message from Thames Valley Police via Neighbourhood Alert
Beware doorstep fraud
As brazen as it may seem, some fraudsters will walk right up to you and attempt to scam you in the street - or on your own doorstep. They may pretend to be from a charity, or a tradesperson - or claim “urgent” work is needed on your property.
Their aim is usually to convince you to hand over money for something that does not exist.
What to look for
Fraudsters can be very believable, using urgency, emotion and charm to persuade you. Be wary if -
they ask for money or bank details upfront before providing goods or completing work;
they say they are doing work for your neighbours to gain your trust;
you feel pressured to decide immediately;
they cannot show a valid ID badge or proof of who they are or who they work for;
they become defensive or change tone when you ask questions or request time to think.
If you suspect fraud - STOP!
Break contact. Say “No thank you” and close the door
Do not hand over money or personal information
Never allow a cold caller to rush you. A legitimate trader will return later if asked to do so.
Check if it is genuine. Ask trusted friends/neighbours - or verify through Trading Standards
If you’ve already responded - don’t panic
If you’ve made a payment: Contact your bank immediately using a trusted number (or 159 for most UK banks)
In all cases: Report the incident so it can be assessed and the information used to help protect others
Report it!
