Brill’s Midsummer Music Festival

A heartfelt Thank You
from Andy Fisher and The Brill Society

What an incredible weekend we shared at The Brill Society's Midsummer Music Festival on June 20th & 21st! A huge Thank You to everyone who came along, enjoyed the music, and donated so generously. Your support is what makes events like this possible and helps keep community events thriving in Brill.

Thank you to all our amazing bands and performers who generously gave their time free of charge to entertain us throughout the weekend.

Special thanks to: Maggie for her tireless help leading up to, and over, the weekend; our fantastic bar volunteers; Tim for allowing us to use such a wonderful venue; Vale Brewery for their continued support and excellent beer; Theresa and Clair for introducing the hugely successful children's area; Taplin's Event Hire for the generators and facilities - and That Event Company for their outstanding work setting up the stage and PA system.

Thank you also to all our caterers for keeping everyone well fed throughout the weekend.

Finally, a massive thank you to my brilliant sound and stage management team, Alan and Toby. Your hard work behind the scenes is a huge part of what makes this event such a success.

A very special thank you…

A very special thank you to Alan. After years of helping me build Midsummer Music into the event it is today, he has decided to step back from his formal role. Thankfully, he'll still be around supporting us but now with more time to do what he loves most; getting on stage and performing. Thank you, Alan, for everything you have done and continue to do for The Brill Society.

Events like this are only possible because of the generosity, commitment and community spirit shown by so many people. Whether you performed, volunteered, donated, sponsored, supplied equipment, provided food and drink, or simply came along and enjoyed the music, you played a part in making the weekend such a memorable success.

Thank you all!

And there’s more!

Now for a few days of well-earned rest before we start planning Midwinter Music on January 23rd - and Midsummer Music 2027 June 18th, 19th and 20th. Save the dates; they will be unmissable.

Brill Church Summer Cream Teas

The Cream Teas are Brill Church’s biggest fundraiser - and we’re all invited to get involved. The pop-up teashop runs from July 18th to August 23rd (Saturdays and Sundays), 3pm to 5 pm and volunteers are needed to make cakes and scones, serve teas, and wash-up and clear away.

Please email Rachel Woolrich or call her on 07738 639858 if you can help. Three or four people are needed for each Saturday or Sunday and Rachel will slot you into the rota on the day of your choice. Alternatively, why not recruit friends, grandparents, teenagers and children to make up a team? (It might help to know that you don’t have to serve AND make scones and cakes - unless you want to do so!)

Community litter picking equipment

Want to help keep Brill tidy? The Parish Council has put everything you need - pickers, hoops, bags and hi-vis - in a fine new storage box adjacent to Brill Fire Station in Temple Street. Just help yourself when you feel inspired and, when you’re done, drop your finds in the two bins provided (one each for general waste and recycling).

Thank you to Cllr James Tuffley and Bucks Fire and Rescue Service for enabling this initiative.

The all weather surface of our MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) is marked up for football, netball, basketball and tennis - or just running madly around! Book a 30 or 60 minute MUGA session - or just turn up and play (so long as nobody with a confirmed booking appears).

Now with new permanent flood lights - and bookings extended to 9pm.
